Writing Articles For Blog Traffic - Update
In my previous post on article writing, I said that by writing articles and submitting them to the various article directories, you stand to gain:
- Valuable backlinks to your blog, and;
- Free exposure for your blog.
At the time of writing, I have submitted five different articles to ten different popular article directories. Once they have all been approved (so far around 75% of them have been approved, it takes a few days for approval) I’ll have 50 quality backlinks pointing directly at my blog. I intend to keep submitting articles to these directories, so that over a fairly short space of time, I’ll have hundreds of backlinks to my blog through article directories alone.
This is great in terms of search engine weighting, but there’s another superb advantage to doing this. Already, someone has taken five of my articles from the directories and published them on his / her website (here’s one of them here). That’s another five incoming links to my blog on top of the original fifty incoming links from the article directories. If someone surfing the net comes across my articles on this persons website, there’s a chance that they will click through my link and arrive at my blog, hungry for more amazingly well-written articles and blog posts (self-delusion never hurt anyone…)!! And I only started submitting my articles two weeks ago!! Hopefully you’re starting to see the potential here!!
As a side bonus to all this, if you’ve signed up to Technorati, then your ‘Authority’ level will increase every time someone publishes one of your articles on their blog or website. The higher your Authority level, the more exposure you will get on Technorati. Granted, my Authority level is now proudly sitting at ‘1′, but hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day!!
So if you’re thinking about the possibility of writing articles within your chosen subject for submission to the article directories, I implore you to go right ahead and get submittin’!!
