Blog Theme - A Change For The Better?
If you’ve visited my blog before, you’ll notice that I’ve changed the overall blog theme.
While the basic structure of my blog remains the same (i.e. 3 columns) I’ve updated the blog theme in terms of colouring. To add the extra column, I went to Tips For New Bloggers and found the section on adding columns. The guides there are really easy to understand for guys like me who don’t fully understand HTML.
I’m now using the default Minima template which Blogger provides, as I think it makes my blog theme look a lot cleaner, and less cluttered. I’ve also changed the colouring of my blog, before it was predominantly green, now I’ve changed it to an off-white colour, whilst retaining a hint of green for the background colour.
I’ve also kept the colour scheme for my blog based on 2 colours, green and blue. I think this makes my blog more user-friendly, as using several different colours for your blog may be a distraction from the content itself.
The Blogger navbar was something I took into consideration while re-designing the blog theme. There are only four navbar colours available, and I like the classic blue colour the most. This helped me to decide on the colour for my blog title, title wrapper and sidebars. I feel that the navbar blends in with the rest of my blog by using these colours.
Finally, I decided on dark green for my blog post titles. This seems to work quite well with both the main background colour and the blue text, and I think it ‘ties in’ the two elements.
Any comments or constructive criticism around how my new blog theme looks would be most welcome!
