Rome Wasn’t Built In A Day…
“Okay, so how do I plan on driving traffic to my blog?”
Actually, let me re-phrase that:
“How do I plan on keeping the traffic I already have?”
It’s one thing to get someone to visit your blog, it’s another thing entirely to get that person to come back again. In my humble opinion, the only way to steadily increase the traffic viewing your blog is to make sure that the majority of those who visit, visit again – and again – and again…..
So how do I do that?
Provide interesting content. Lots of it.
I’m quite an impatient guy, and like to see results straight away. When I first put the little blogpatrol counter on my blog, I continuously refreshed the page to see if anyone (please God, anyone…) had visited. I probably refreshed a good 20 – 30 times over a half hour period or so. The results? No-one. Nada. Zip. Most likely due to the fact that I’d only just created my blog around an hour earlier!
My point being, (above episode aside) it’s going to take time (weeks, months), before I expect / hope that this blog will receive a steadily increasing flow of traffic. Over that period, I’ll be posting regularly, building the content up, and (fingers crossed) giving you some information which you find useful / very slightly humorous.
By continuously posting articles, insights and updates, I very much hope that you’ll be hoodwinked into believing that I know what I’m talking about. Hell, you might even begin to like me… And that might make you come back. Again – and again – and again……

The higher your Authority level, the more exposure you will get on Technorati. Granted, my Authority level is now proudly sitting at ‘1′, but hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day!! [...]
